This challenging canyoning experience suits active participants seeking adrenaline in Madeira’s Ribeira do Cidrão canyon, located in Curral das Freiras valley.
Description
After hotel pickup, certified guides provide a safety briefing and all necessary equipment for the descent. This Level 2 route features rappelling down seven waterfalls, with the highest drop around 18 meters, and optional jumps into deep natural pools.
The route is more technical and varied than beginner options, offering a dynamic adventure through one of Madeira’s notable canyons surrounded by high mountains and natural landscapes. No previous experience is required, but a good fitness level is recommended.
The canyoning activity itself lasts approximately 2.5 hours, or about 5 hours including pickup and drop-off. Participants change into dry clothes after the descent before returning to their accommodations. Photos and videos of the experience are provided free of charge after the activity.
