Description
Did you know Madeira’s most famous drink, poncha, was created by fishermen from Câmara de Lobos?
Come join me for a private and relaxed evening walk around my hometown and I’ll show you why it’s one of my favourite places in Madeira.
We’ll walk along the promenade, take in the views over the bay, explore colourful streets, hidden corners and places most visitors never notice. Along the way, I’ll share local stories, traditions and the history that shaped this fishing village.
We’ll stop at Churchill Viewpoint, where you can take a photo with Winston Churchill’s statue, before making our way to the harbour, where you’ll enjoy an included poncha, Madeira’s most famous drink, created by the fishermen of Câmara de Lobos, together with some local bites.
We’ll also make the short walk up to Jardim do Ilhéu, one of the best viewpoints in the village. It’s where the first settlers of Câmara de Lobos established themselves.
By the end, I hope you’ll feel like you didn’t simply visit Câmara de Lobos, you got to know it.
