Your Ultimate Private 4x4 Experience begins at 9:00 AM with a personalized pickup at your preferred location within Funchal, while pickups outside Funchal can be arranged for an extra cost. You will meet your expert guide for an exclusive journey through Madeira's breathtaking landscapes, designed to show you its natural wonders, dramatic viewpoints, and rich cultural heritage at your own unhurried pace. The adventure starts with a scenic 4x4 drive to Pico do Arieiro, the island's third-highest peak at 1,818 meters, where you can pause for photos above a magical sea of clouds. Next, you will arrive at Ribeiro Frio, a lush green paradise nestled in Madeira's UNESCO-listed Laurisilva Forest, to enjoy free time surrounded by pristine nature. Your journey continues to the north coast, stopping first at the spectacular Miradouro do Guindaste to stand on its famous glass platform overlooking the vast Atlantic Ocean. You will then make brief photo stops at the beautiful Miradouro do Cortado and the stunning Miradouro da Rocha do Navio, offering incredible vistas of coastal cliffs and the nature reserve below. Following these viewpoints, you will arrive in Santana for a lovely pause and free time to explore the traditional, colorful triangular thatched-roof houses and enjoy a delicious lunch at your own expense. Afterward, for an additional cost, the exploration moves to Porto da Cruz, a charming seaside village where you will visit the historic Engenho do Norte steam sugar cane factory to discover the traditional rum production process. Before heading back, your private 4x4 route takes you to the iconic Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula, enjoying picturesque views and a final photo stop to marvel at dramatic volcanic rock formations. Your exclusive 7-hour day concludes with a scenic return ride back to Funchal. As a Private Tour, you can choose between two iconic vehicles. The Land Rover offers a highly comfortable, smooth ride across mountain roads. The UMM is a classic, rigid Portuguese 4x4 offering a completely unique, raw, and authentic 4x4 experience exclusive to our private tours. Due to unforeseen maintenance or mechanical issues, both options might not always be available, and we will proactively update you before your tour. For safety reasons, pets are not allowed on board.
