The route includes a scenic drive to Lombo da Quinta via old side roads, offering views over Funchal harbour. Next, visit Pico do Arieiro, Madeira’s second highest peak at 1,818 meters, with expansive views of valleys, forests, mountains, and Ponta do São Lourenço.
Off-road trails lead to the traditional Santana houses, where you can enjoy a tasting of Poncha along with the option for lunch. Afterwards, the group visits the Guindaste glass platform viewpoint reachable by a gentle 10-minute walk. The tour also stops at Ribeiro Frio, a trout reserve, and Poto da Cruz, home to the North Mills Distillery dating from 1927.
The itinerary covers multiple viewpoints with detailed introductions to the local flora, fauna, and history. Throughout the tour, travel along narrow and off-road paths for an engaging and authentic experience.
