Description
The activity kicks off with a quick ride from the Seixal River Terminal to the Alcochete Salt Pans, where you'll return at the end of the tour. This tour is a 5 km walk through the entrance of the Alcochete Salt Pans, the land of salt, by the sea. Here you'll find an idyllic landscape overlooking the Tagus River, as well as birds, fauna, and flora—an ideal morning for nature lovers. Portugal is one of the biggest producers of this raw material, which is sea salt. Although many salt pans are no longer in use, this one still produces salt, which is considered an ancient tradition. Take a look at our history and customs, and admire nature along a privileged route for birdwatching, especially our flamingos, the hallmark of our region. Travel back in time with us and experience one of the oldest work activities of the time, awakening your senses. Optional stop at Freeport to check out the shops and have lunchIncludes
