This small-group boat tour departs from Funchal, Madeira, and suits nature lovers interested in dolphins, whales, and sea turtles.
Description
The tour begins with preparation, boarding, a safety briefing, and lifejacket fitting. The boat leaves Funchal harbor, traveling along Madeira’s coastline into open ocean waters. Participants search for wildlife, primarily dolphins and whales, with an annual average of 99% successful sightings of at least one cetacean species.
The standard trip lasts a minimum of two hours before returning to Funchal marina. If no cetaceans are sighted during your trip, you may join another tour free of charge within one year, subject to availability.
An optional add-on allows swimming/snorkeling with dolphins for €20 per participant, charged on-site only if conditions and local animal protection laws permit. This swim lasts about 1–2 minutes per person and is limited to common dolphins or Atlantic spotted dolphins. All necessary snorkeling equipment is provided.
Private tours are available for groups of up to 18 passengers, ideal for family or friends seeking a private experience.
