Description
The tour begins at Largo do Miranda, offering panoramic views over Funchal and the Desertas Islands. Next, you ascend to Pico do Arieiro at 1818 meters, with views of Ponta de São Lourenço, Ribeiro Frio, Paúl da Serra, Curral das Freiras, and Porto Santo.
From there, the route continues to Santo da Serra for an off-road jeep experience through endemic and introduced forests, with an open roof for an immersive experience.
Heading back to Madeira’s south coast, the jeep travels through Santa Cruz. Here, observe local farming terraces and learn how farmers cultivate crops on steep slopes. The tour ends at the Cristo Rei viewpoint, one of the island’s most symbolic landmarks.
After the jeep tour, guests are transported to Funchal Marina to board a catamaran for a three-hour dolphin watching cruise along the south coast. The crew shares detailed information about the cetaceans commonly sighted. During summer, swimming near Cabo Girão cliff is an option. The trip concludes back at Funchal Marina.
