Description

Travel from Funchal, Caniço, Garajau, or Machico to the PR8 trailhead at Ponta de São Lourenço with a local driver who provides logistical details and safety advice before you start.

The trail is approximately 3 km each way (6 km round trip) along the eastern coast of Madeira. It features volcanic formations, coastal viewpoints, and native flora and seabirds, with highlights including Desembarcadouro and Farol Islets.

This moderate trail typically takes 3 to 4 hours to complete. After your hike, return transport to your original pickup location is included.
