Description
The tour begins in Funchal, driving to Serra d'Água for off-road experiences with views over Porto Moniz, Ribeira da Janela, Paúl da Serra, and São Vicente. You will then travel to Madeira’s main wine region to explore the largest vineyards on the island. Here, a professional guide explains the history, culture, and production process of Madeira wines, followed by a tasting of one rosé, three whites, and two red table wines, paired with Portuguese cheese and chorizo.
After a lunch break (meals not included), the tour visits Cabo Girão cliff, 580 meters above sea level, featuring a glass skywalk with panoramic views over the Atlantic, Câmara de Lobos, and Funchal (entry fee not included).
The tour concludes in the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos with a visit to the Henriques & Henriques Madeira Wine Lodge. Guests taste the iconic 3-year-old Madeira Sweet and Dry wines. Note that visits to this lodge are unavailable on weekends and some Portuguese holidays; on these days, a 20-minute visit to the traditional fishing village in Câmara de Lobos Bay replaces the wine lodge tour.
