The tour begins with pickup from your accommodation in Funchal or Caniço (confirm eligibility before booking). The journey starts with a drive up the mountain to Terreiro da Luta (876 m), where you see a historic monument and views over Funchal. Next, you visit Funchal Ecological Park with access to the Nature Reserve Museum and a view of the Levada do Murray, dating from 1784.
Then the tour ascends to Pico do Arieiro, one of Madeira's highest peaks, with panoramic mountain views often above the clouds. On the return leg, there is a short, flat walk along Levada da Serra do Faial to observe Madeira’s water supply system. The final stop is Camacha village, known for hosting Portugal’s first football match.
