Description

Begin your journey on scenic, less-traveled roads toward Câmara de Lobos, enjoying views over the Socorridos Valley and the Coral beer factory. Your guide will share knowledge about Madeira’s agricultural heritage and rural lifestyle.

In Câmara de Lobos, explore the fishing village’s history and traditions, including the origins of poncha, the island’s traditional drink. A short walk includes points of interest such as the monk seal sculpture made from recycled materials and the statue of Winston Churchill painting the bay.

Travel onward to Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, the guide's hometown, passing banana plantations and vineyards. At Quinta de Santo António, learn about local farming of bananas, grapes, and sugarcane while enjoying valley views.

Ascend to Levada do Norte to discover Madeira’s historic irrigation system and its importance. A break at a local bar offers an authentic poncha tasting, with a demonstration of its traditional preparation.

Continue along hidden rural roads to Boca dos Namorados viewpoint overlooking Curral das Freiras, where local stories and regional history are shared. The adventure includes off-road sections through orchards of cherries and chestnuts, enriched by generational knowledge.
