Description
Enjoy one of the most iconic experiences in Madeira: the sunrise at Pico do Arieiro followed by the PR1 hiking tour to Pico Ruivo, the highest peak on the island.
Your day begins early with a pickup from your accommodation in Funchal, Caniço, or Santa Cruz. Sit back in the comfort of our Mercedes V Class and head to Pico do Areeiro before sunrise.
Upon arrival, walk by the light of headlamps to a vantage point. Watch as the sky gradually changes color and, when conditions permit, the sun appears above the mountains and the sea of clouds.
After this unforgettable moment, start the PR1 hiking tour towards Pico Ruivo. You will be accompanied to Pedra Rija to see the start of the trail, get your bearings and receive the latest useful instructions.
You then continue the hike on your own to Pico Ruivo. The route passes through some of Madeira's most spectacular mountain landscapes, with ridges, tunnels and impressive panoramas.
After reaching the top, you will descend to Achada do Teixeira, where your driver will be waiting for you for the return transport to your accommodation.
Your official IFCN ticket, transportation, drop-off transfer, a bottle of water and a cereal bar are included.
This allows you to fully enjoy the experience without having to organize the different stages of the hike.
Activity available in French and Portuguese, in a small group of up to 6 participants.
