Description
The tour begins with pickup from your accommodation. The first stop is Ponta do Sol, a village positioned at the base of sea cliffs featuring interesting architecture including an Art Deco cinema from the 1930s.
Next, visit the fishing village of Madalena do Mar, reputedly founded by former Polish king Vladislau III. Here you can enjoy a short walk through a banana plantation.
Then travel to Calheta to view the beaches and marina from a high viewpoint at Casa das Mudas, followed by a visit to the Calheta sugar mill.
The tour continues to Paul do Mar, a local fishing village offering a 90-minute stop for optional lunch (not included) and the chance to see a nearby waterfall above the harbor.
Afterward, drive through Prazeres for sightseeing en route to the lighthouse at Ponta do Pargo. From this cliff-top viewpoint, observe the clear turquoise waters below.
Proceed to Cabo to visit the chapel and walk through a green meadow towards another lookout point. The route then passes Achadas da Cruz, arriving at Porto Moniz to see the volcanic rock pools by the sea.
The tour returns to Funchal via São Vicente.
