Description

This tour takes you to explore the wonders of Western Madeira, a region full of stunning landscapes, charming villages and unique points of interest. Below is the detailed itinerary, with a description of each place visited. 1. Câmara de Lobos Description: We start the day in the charming fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. This place was immortalized in the paintings of Winston Churchill and enchants with its colourful boats, hillside vineyards and traditional atmosphere. It's the ideal place to try the famous Madeiran poncha, a typical local drink. 2. Cabo Girão Description: The next destination is Cabo Girão, one of the highest cliffs in Europe at 580 meters. The glass platform offers a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean, the cultivated fields below and the south coast of Madeira. An unmissable stop for memorable photos. 3. Ribeira Brava Description: We head to Ribeira Brava, a picturesque coastal village with a charming 16th century church (Igreja de São Bento) and beautiful views of the ocean. A perfect place for a coffee or to explore the seafront promenade. 4. Encumeada Description: We climb up to the Encumeada viewpoint, at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters. This viewpoint allows you to see both the north and south coasts of Madeira on clear days. Surrounded by green mountains, it is a place that exudes tranquillity. 5. Paul da Serra Description: We continue towards Paul da Serra, Madeira's highest plateau at around 1,500 meters above sea level. This area is known for its unique landscape, with open fields and a completely different atmosphere from the rest of the island. 6. Porto Moniz Description: We arrive in Porto Moniz, famous for its natural pools formed by volcanic lava. Here you can relax, swim (depending on the weather conditions) or simply enjoy the beauty of the rock formations washed by the waves of the Atlantic. It's also an excellent stop for lunch in one of the local restaurants, tasting seafood specialties. 7. Seixal Description: The next destination is Seixal, known for its volcanic black sand beaches and the famous Véu da Noiva waterfall. This place offers spectacular views of the north coast and a unique opportunity to feel a connection with nature. 8. St. Vincent Description: Next, we visit São Vicente, a charming village with cobbled streets, traditional houses and a 17th century church. It's a great place to visit the São Vicente Caves (optional), formed by volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago. 9. Return to Funchal Description: The tour ends with a relaxing drive back to Funchal, through mountainous landscapes and Laurissilva forests, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
