Description

After your guide has collected you from your accommodation or the port, you will make your way to Levada dos Tornos. This levada is one of the most important in the area, passing through a large part of Madeira Island to deliver water from the north to the south. This walk will take you to the very beginning of this important levada. The path begins in the area of Lombo do Urzal (Boaventura) near a group of houses, from where you will ascend to discover the levada. You'll soon turn right and follow the levada which will lead you to its origin, dos Tornos, where you will find a beautiful waterfall. You can stay in this location for a moment to admire its beauty, before returning by the same route, but this time towards Fajã do Penedo. Enjoy the nature as you travel, which is comprised by the living green of the lush vegetation.
